Funding rates for student mobility (SMS)

The financial support for Erasmus+ student stays is based on the different costs of living in the target countries ("program countries").

Until project year 2023, the following funding rates apply throughout Germany for three groups of countries for study visits (SMS):

• Group 1 (600 euros per month): Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden
• Group 2 (540 euros per month): Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain.
• Group 3 (490 euros per month): Bulgaria, Estonia, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Republic of North Macedonia, Czech Republic, Turkey, Hungary.

From project year 2024, the following funding rates will apply throughout Germany for three country groups for study visits (SMS)

• Group 1 (600 euros per month): Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden.
• Group 2 (540 euros per month): Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, Cyprus.
• Group 3 (540 euros per month): Bulgaria, Croatia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Hungary.

However, the study abroad phase can also include so-called "zero grant" periods. These are days spent abroad without a financial Erasmus+ grant but with Erasmus status. For further information on funding for your Erasmus+ study period, please contact Ms. Sekler directly.
