English

A very good knowledge of English is essential for a successful start to your career. The Clausthal International Center (IZC) therefore offers you a wide range of English courses to accompany your studies, from beginners' courses to specialist language courses (Business English, Technical English), with which you can improve your English skills in a targeted manner.

Participation requirements
All students and employees of the university can take part in our study-related English courses free of charge. If you are not enrolled, you can obtain a guest auditor's license and also take part in the courses.

Certificates of achievement
If you attend regularly and pass the final examination, you will receive credit points (CP), which are recognized as elective credits in some degree courses. On request, you will receive a certificate for the course you have successfully completed.

Placement test
If you have not yet attended an English course at Clausthal University of Technology, you are required to take a placement test (exception: beginners with no previous knowledge). The placement test always takes place in the first week of the lecture period (registration via StudIP on the internet).

Registration procedure
Once the results of the placement test have been announced, you can register for the relevant course via StudIP.

General English courses

In our general English courses, you will deal with key everyday situations and at the same time sharpen your awareness of cultural differences.

Technical English

In these courses you will practice efficient communication in a technical (professional) environment.

Business English Courses

In our career-oriented English courses, you will acquire the skills you need for a successful career in an international environment.
