If you have a university entrance qualification (HZB) and have little or no knowledge of German, you can attend intensive German language courses in Clausthal for a fee. If you apply for a German-language degree program, you will receive a conditional admission letter from us and at the same time a confirmation of registration for a German course. With these documents, you can apply for a visa at the German diplomatic mission in your home country.
An application for conditional admission is made via the general application portal of the TU Clausthal.
The semester for your admission depends on your German language skills. For example, if you are applying for the winter semester and can prove German language skills at A2 level at the time of application, you will need at least 6 months to reach the required C1 level. This means that your admission would be issued for the following summer semester.
Please note that the processing of individual applications cannot be accelerated. Please do not make an appointment to apply for a visa at the German Embassy before you have received conditional admission.
* Important information for the degree programs Materials Science and Materials Engineering:
Please note that for the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Materials Science and Materials Engineering, the results of the language tests (English & German) must be available at the time of application for university admission. These language tests are an integral part of the application process. Conditional admission is not possible in this context.
