Scholarship for doctoral students and postdocs for research in Japan

We would like to draw your attention to one of the following support programs for a stay in Japan.

Dear students,

We would like to draw your attention to the following funding programs:

JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (short-term), for doctoral and postdoctoral students

Applicants:

- Doctoral students: Doctorate must be completed within the next two years after the start of funding.

- Postdoctoral researchers: Doctorate must have been completed no more than 6 years prior to April 1 of the fiscal year in which the fellowship begins.

All disciplines

Participants in the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (standard) are not eligible to apply.

Duration:

1 to 12 months

At the DAAD for a fellowship start between 01.01.2023-31.03.2023 until 31.07.2022:

Postdocs with a stay of 6 months or more:

via the host at JSPS Tokyo:

for a scholarship start between 01.04.2023-31.03.2024: Application deadline of the host institutes at JSPS Tokyo: 30.09.2022

It is recommended to apply via the German partner organizations, as there are fixed quotas for German applicants.
