Exchange Semester ISAP in Namibia
Collect credit points in Namibia and benefit from attractive DAAD funding! (English text below)
From February to June 2025, as a TUC student, you have the opportunity to study in Windhoek at our partner university, the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) and at the same time benefit from full DAAD funding! The funding includes a one-off lump sum to cover travel costs, a monthly accommodation allowance and you will be reimbursed for your international health insurance. This is made possible by an ISAP project (ISAP stands for International Study and Training Partnerships), which in this case is led by the Institute of Mining at our university.
Apply for one of three available sponsorship places if you are studying one of the following degree courses:
- Mining Engineering (M.Sc.)
- Sustainable Resource Extraction and Recycling (B.Sc.)
- Industrial Engineering (M.Sc.)
- Technical Business Administration (M.Sc.)
Two TUC students have already traveled to Windhoek this year as part of the ISAP project. The conclusion of one of the outgoers: " I was excited to be part of the culture of the Namibian people which embraces open-mindedness, respect, and tolerance of diversity. They treated me as a family and felt secure all the time.
Enrich your studies and gain credits and international experience in Southern Africa! Please submit your application for one of the three ISAP places by e-mail to sandra.nowosad@tu-clausthal.de and markus.heidemann@tu-clausthal.de until August 31, 2024 . Please submit the following documents with your application:
- Letter of motivation (approx. 1 DIN A4 page, written in English)
- Current overview of achievements
- Curriculum vitae
- English certificate - not older than 2 years; if you need a certificate, you can take a corresponding certificate exam at the IZC Language Center.
Selection interviews will take place once applications have been received.

Gathering Credit Points in Namibia and receiving highly attractive DAAD grants!
From February until June 2025 you as a TU Clausthal student have the opportunity to study at our partner university in Windhoek, the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), AND to receive a substantial financial support through a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD): a travel allowance for getting to Namibia, a monthly general allowance as well as the coverage of insurance expenditures.
This scholarship results from a DAAD program called ISAP(Internationale Studien- und Ausbildungspartnerschaften) which promotes the collaboration of single institutes with foreign universities. At our university this specific program with NUST is being managed by the Institute of Mining.
Students of the following study programs are welcome to submit their applications for one of up to three available scholarships:
- Mining Engineering (M.Sc.)
- Sustainable Raw Material Production and Recycling (B.Sc.)
- Business and Engineering (M.Sc.)
- Technical Management (M.Sc.)

The application please includes the following documents:
- A letter of motivation (appr. 1 DIN A4 page written in English)
- A current overview of your academic achievements
- A current CV
- An English certificate which is not older than 2 years - should you need a certificate please contact the language center of the International Center Clausthal in order to arrange an examination.
In a second step interviews with the applicants are planned.
