In comparison to other German university towns, Clausthal-Zellerfeld is relatively cheap. However, students will still probably require more money than they would at home, especially during the first two months when they will need to buy essential items like dishes, textbooks, etc. Altogether students should plan on spending about 700 euros per month (therefrom, accommodation € 190-325, health insurance approx. € 110 and the rest for textbooks, food and clothes).

Naturally, however, expenses heavily depend upon individual lifestyles.

Students still looking for financing options can inquiry in their home country at the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) (Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienst) about financial support.
