Erasmus+ Teaching Staff Mobility (STA)

Erasmus+ promotes guest lectureships at the European partner universities which have a valid Erasmus Charter for Universities (ECHE). Through their stay, guest lecturers will strengthen the European dimension of the host university, supplement their courses of study, and convey their expertise to students who cannot or do not intend to study abroad.

Where possible, the development of joint study programs at the partner universities as well as the exchange of teaching content and teaching methods should play a role. Staff from foreign companies and organizations can also be invited to teach at German universities.

Personnel mobility must take place in a program country which is not the country of the sending higher education institution and not the main country of residence of the person concerned.

Teaching assignments within Europe are between two days and two months (each excluding travel time); the teaching workload is at least eight hours per stay or per week.

The following persons may be encouraged:

·         Professors and lecturers with a contractual relationship with the
·         Lecturers without endowment
·         Lecturers with work contracts
·         Emeritus professors and retired teachers
·         Scientific staff
·         Corporate personnel

Only those employees who are on the university's list of salaries and who are entitled to apply for an occupational trip can be promoted.

The Erasmus+ Mobility Allowance includes travel and subsistence costs, which can be subsidized as unit costs (fixed lump sums). Parallel funding for similar costs from other EU programs is excluded.
